Landlord & Tenant
Shari S. Laskowitz is of counsel in the firm's Landlord-Tenant group.  She has been representing clients in real estate litigation for more than 15 years, with significant experience at trials, appeals, and in private negotiations.  Shari has successfully resolved a broad array  of real estate-related disputes, including landlord/tenant and co-op/condo conflicts as well as business-related matters such as partnership disputes and Surrogate’s Court litigation.
She represents commercial landlords and tenants in matters, including those related to breach of contract, real estate taxes, adjacent properties, construction delays, community opposition, brokerage agreements, and the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Shari has particular experience in the area of landlord-tenant disputes relating to office, retail, and restaurant properties, as well as multifamily residential properties.  She appears in New York City housing and civil courts on a near-daily basis and has resolved more than 500 landlord-tenant cases.   Shari has presented several educational seminars on landlord and tenant topics to other attorneys and to real estate professionals.  
Additionally, Shari has experience resolving real estate partnership disputes through litigation, negotiation and arbitration in New York state courts as well as before the American Arbitration Association and JAMS.  She also represents shareholders in disputes with co-op boards.
Beyond the law firm, Shari is a 15-year fund-raising team captain for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s New York Walk MS and a member of the Judges & Lawyers Breast Cancer Alert.
